Lucy Gaughan - New Textiles Artist in Pad Shop

Lucy is a British designer specialising in digitally printed textiles. After studying theatre design at the University of London and working in various London theatres, she decided to pursue her interest in textiles. Lucy worked for several major London-based designers and her experiences there inspired her to set up her own company. Lucy has since moved back to her native Manchester where the culture and history of the city have had a great impact on her work, which bridges the gap between the old and modern in its design and application. Heavily influenced by the bold, earthy designs of Eastern European, Amish and Japanese artwork, Lucy’s hand-drawn designs are digitally manipulated to generate a series of striking patterns.
