Lorraine Tolmie - New Artist in PAD shop

Call into Pad shop to see the work of our new textile artist Lorraine Tolmie. Lorraine was born in Scotland and studied Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art, later completing an MA in Production Design for Film and Television at Kingston University. In 2007, after spending many hours captivated by the wools and yarns in a nearby shop, Lorraine discovered a passion for textiles and a lot of crochet. By combining various techniques including crochet, felting and embroidery, Lorraine transforms naturally tactile materials such as fine cotton, pure wool and raw silk into wearable art. Colour, pattern, texture, detail and the organic forms of the natural world are a constant source of inspiration in all her artwork. Now living and working in Cheshire, the artist is never too far from her crochet hook and wool.
